Best Sensitivity Settings for Valorant (& What Pros Use)

1 year ago 279

Comfortable sensitivity is what you need to hit your shots in any competitive shooter. If you barely touched the sensitivity settings in Valorant you will see significant improvements in aim once you find your perfect sensitivity.

Sensitivity comes down to personal preference at the end of the day. Don’t force yourself to use a much lower sens if you already feel comfortable when taking gunfights.

What is DPI, Sensitivity, and eDPI?

Valorant uses what is called “Raw Input”. That means only the game’s sensitivity and DPI will affect how fast your mouse moves across the screen. In other games, Windows settings may interfere with your sensitivity.

  • DPI: DPI is the mouse’s hardware speed. A gaming mouse will usually have DPI buttons on it to quickly change the DPI.
  • Sensitivity: Sensitivity is what you set in Valorant’s settings. It is basically a DPI multiplier for the game. You can set it up by going to Valorant’s settings “General” tab.
  • eDPI (or effective DPI): eDPI is Sensitivity x DPI and that will be your actual in-game sensitivity. Aka the speed at which your mouse travels across the monitor. The reason we have eDPI is that you might not want to change your DPI but still have the same speed. In that case, all you have to do is take the eDPI and divide it by your DPI. And you will get the sensitivity to enter in Valorant.

Best Sensitivity Settings in Valorant

Your desk space, personal preference, and playstyle will matter when finding your perfect sensitivity. If you are playing aggressively, dashing in on-site as Jett every round, you might want to go for a higher sensitivity.

The suggested eDPI range is from 280 to 360 and these settings for each DPI will make sure you fall into that range:

DPISensitivity Range
4000.7 to 0.9
8000.35 to 0.45
1200 0.23 to 0.3
14000.2 to 0.25
16000.175 to 0.225

When playing with a new sensitivity, give yourself some time to get used to it and pay attention to your aim. Try to notice if your crosshair stops too late or too early and adjust your sensitivity.

How to Find Your Perfect Sensitivity

If you want to find your perfect sens you can try a method of binary search. It takes some time to go through but you will get the best sens made specifically for you. The method was introduced by SEN TenZ and broken down by Sena in the video below:
