Xbox games are coming to cloud gaming service Boosteroid in June

Microsoft will begin rolling out its PC games on Boosteroid next month.

Starting on June 1, Deathloop, Gears 5, Grounded and Pentiment will be made available via the cloud gaming service.

Microsoft said Boosteroid subscribers will be able to play these titles across a range of platforms including Windows, Linux, Android, Android TV, and macOS through an app, and on additional devices through browsers and webOS.

“This moment builds on our recent announcement that PC games from Xbox are available to Nvidia GeForce Now members, and is one of our many partnerships planned globally with a variety of cloud gaming providers, including Ubitus and Nware, and EE in the future,” said Xbox corporate vice president Sarah Bond.

“We are committed to enabling players to stream games from Xbox Game Studios and Bethesda, as well as future Activision Blizzard PC games once the acquisition closes, through the cloud gaming service of their choice.”

Microsoft has recently signed a handful of game distribution agreements designed to allay regulatory concerns over its proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

Last week, the European Commission and China’s competition regulator cleared the controversial $69 billion deal.

“China’s unconditional clearance of our acquisition of Activision Blizzard follows clearance decisions from jurisdictions such as the European Union and Japan, bringing the total to 37 countries representing more than two billion people,” Microsoft said in a statement issued to TechRaptor.

Last month, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority said it was preventing the deal due to concerns about its impact on the future of the cloud gaming market.

Microsoft and Activision quickly confirmed their intention to appeal the CMA’s ruling, which the former has called “bad for Britain” and the latter has labelled “irrational”.
