Harry Potter competitive multiplayer game Quidditch Champions announced

Warner Bros. Games has announced Harry Potter Quidditch Champions for PC and unconfirmed console platforms.

According to an FAQ on the game’s website, the title is “a fast-paced, competitive multiplayer game featuring the world’s most iconic magical sport”.

It’s billed as “a complete, standalone Quidditch experience” that “engages players in the sport of Quidditch and other broomstick adventures alongside friends in a competitive, multiplayer setting”.

The game will let users create and customise their own Quidditch players. It will require an internet connection, whether playing solo or as a team online.

Quidditch Champions has been in development for several years at LA-based Unbroken Studios, which is also contributing to the console versions of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Warner is currently holding limited playtests for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and players can register here for a chance to participate.

Like Harry Potter spin-off Hogwarts Legacy, the game is set to be published under Warner’s Portkey Games label.

A release date for Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions has not been set.

Hogwarts Legacy - Gameplay Showcase II

Hogwarts Legacy sold over 12 million copies and raked in $850 million in sales globally in the first two weeks following its release in February, making it Warner’s biggest launch ever.

Following the latest in a number of delays, Hogwarts Legacy will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, and for Nintendo Switch on July 25.
