Autumn is fast approaching, which means winter is just around the corner. That means many things to different people. Some celebrate Christmas while others get hyped for Halloween, Thanksgiving or other Holidays that fail to spring to my mind right now. For me? I just love it being colder. But there's something else to look forward to as the last few months of the year arrive - the Pocket Gamer Awards 2024.
That's right, my peculiar preamble was to announce that, once again, we're hosting our annual PGAs to celebrate the latest and greatest in mobile gaming. And not just that, we know that gaming doesn't exist in convenient 365-day chunks. So, you can also expect a few categories to honour games that remain relevant in 2024 alongside a glimpse into the future because it's nice to look forward to things.
Nothing's underway yet, though we'll have more to announce on that soon. For now, we merely want to let you know, generate a bit of buzz and allow you to put your thinking caps on. The reason? Because while we're hosting the awards, the winners are entirely chosen by you, our readers! So think about what's impressed you this year across several genres so you're ready to go when the nominations open.
That phase of the awards will run for a month, allowing plenty of time for everyone to get their picks in. After that, we'll open up voting, which, again, runs for a month. We're big fans of four-week periods here at Pocket Gamer. During that window, you can rally your pals and other fans of your favourite games to vote. Likewise, any developers reading this encourage players to throw a vote your game's way.
After that, we'll announce all the winners in some glorious, as of yet undecided, fashion. It's a lovely way to round off the year by celebrating all the good, so I hope you'll join us. In the meantime, feel free to check out last year's video above.
