Microsoft has launched the new Xbox Game Pass Standard plan for all players.

The service’s latest membership tier includes access to a back catalogue of hundreds of games and online console multiplayer, but no day one first-party releases or cloud gaming.

Replacing the now retired Game Pass for Console tier, the Standard plan is available for $14.99 / £10.99 per month.

The Standard tier was first announced in July and was previously available in preview form for Xbox Insiders.

The $11.99 / £10.99 per month Game Pass PC tier and the $19.99 / £14.99 per month Ultimate plan for console and PC also include access to Xbox’s day one titles and an EA Play membership. Ultimate offers cloud gaming too.

The entry-level Xbox Game Pass Core tier, which costs $9.99 / £6.99 per month, offers access to a “curated catalogue of over 25 high-quality games on console”, plus online multiplayer.

All four tiers also provide “member deals and discounts,” according to Microsoft.

The platform holder confirmed last month that the new Standard tier might not receive first-party games until more than a year after their release.

“Some games coming to Game Pass Ultimate (day one games or other game entries) will not be immediately available with Game Pass Standard and may be added to the library at a future date (can be up to 12 months or more and will vary by title),” Megan Spurr, senior community lead for Game Pass, wrote on Xbox Wire.
