Dragon’s Dogma 2 patch adds casual mode, more animations and fast travel points

Capcom has released an update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 which adds a casual mode, more animations and dozens of gameplay tweaks and bug fixes.

The update, which is rolling out today, also targets issues around CPU overload on PC, which could occur in certain situations.

The game’s new casual mode makes several changes to Dragon’s Dogma difficulty. This includes:

  • Reduced inn fees for staying at an inn.
  • Reduced price of Ferrystones.
  • More difficult for weight carried to become “Heavy” or “Very Heavy.”
  • Less Stamina expended when dashing outside of battle.
  • Loss gauge will not increase when selecting “Load from Last Save” after the Arisen dies.
  • Pawns will recover from dragonsplague without a “devastating calamity” occurring, even if the symptoms progress to a terminal stage.

Capcom notes that while players can change their difficulty to casual mode mid-playthrough, it’s not possible to change it back. Some trophies and achievements will also be blocked by this mode.

The full patch notes can be found on the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Steam page.

“It’s a game that refuses to hold your hand, but will give you all the tools to experience an adventure that’s one for the ages.”

Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno left Capcom last month, after more than 30 years with the company.
