Ubisoft Will No Longer Be Attending E3 2023, Will Host Its Own Ubisoft Forward Event A Day Before E3 Begins

Ubisoft has announced that it will no longer be attending E3 2023, after saying that it would attend just five weeks ago, a statement that was only prompted due to some awkward wording from Ubisoft chief executive officer Yves Guillemot.

The Assassin’s Creed publisher has however decided to host its own Ubisoft Forward event on June 12, 2023, the day before E3 2023 is slated to begin.

A statement issued to website VGC said that the company had chosen to “move in a different direction,” by hosting its own conference.

“While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles.

We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”

There’s been no word yet from E3 or its new organizer ReedPop, but things can’t be looking great for what was meant to be E3’s big comeback year, now that another big publisher has pulled out of the conference.

Especially after having so publicly announcing that it would indeed attend. And with Summer Games Fest as a contender to E3, it continues to feel like the long-running expo’s days are numbered.
