Microsoft has detailed Xbox’s November update, which includes a number of new features for PC gamers.

Highlighting this month’s update is a new Compact mode in the Xbox app on PC.

Microsoft describes it as “a new feature that enhances your gaming experience by providing a more intuitive user interface on smaller screens”.

In Compact mode, the side bar collapses into icons, giving players more space to browse content.

It’s now available as part of the latest update for all Windows devices, including handhelds like the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go.

Players can also now choose to show only unread notifications in the notification dropdown on the Xbox app on PC.

And there’s a new Gaming Services Repair Tool designed to fix issues with gaming services or missing content when launching the Xbox app on PC.

On console, Microsoft is adding Japanese language support for physical and virtual keyboards.

There’s a new notification that will let players know if a game they’ve wish listed has been added to Xbox Free Play Days, which lets Game Pass subscribers try out the full versions of selected titles each weekend at no additional charge.
