Insomniac Games has released a massive update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which adds long-requested features such as New Game+, mission reliability, new suits, and much more.

However, after the update went live, some players gained access to the game's developer debug menu, allowing them to get a look at upcoming DLCs.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has just released one of its biggest updates yet. This update brings the long-awaited New Game+, allowing players to level up further and earn exclusive NG+ rewards. That's not all; Insomniac Games has also released a number of quality-of-life features, including the ability to switch the time of the day, replay missions, and a host of new accessibility options.

However, the new patch has added more than Insomniac Games intended. Following the update, some fans found they could easily access the game's developer menu. The menu's contents reveal some exciting details about an unannounced DLC Storyline.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Developer Menu Reveals New DLC

PlayStation 5 owners quickly discovered that the latest update of Spider-Man 2 includes a developer-only debug menu, which players can access with a few button presses. The menu allows players to skip around the game's chapters, switch on cheats, and view performance details, like dynamic resolution and frame rates.

It also gives insight into a possible DLC For Marvel's Spider-Man 2. As spotted by a Reddit user, the dev menu includes a page for 'Beetle Villain Arc' that hints at the first wave of DLC for the game, which will focus on Janice Lincoln's version of Beetle. While we still don't have any announcements for DLC, this does match the information from last year's Insomniac leaks. However, it's crucial to take this information with a grain of salt, as it could be leftover code that didn't make it to the final version of the game.

Although Beetle isn't popular like other Spider-Man villains, she is connected to the game series. Janice is the daughter of Lonnie Lincoln, known as 'Tombstone”. He appears in Marvel's Spider-Man and its sequel.

Insomniac Games acknowledged the unintended inclusion of the debug menu in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 patch and planned to fix the issue. However, the developers did not give a date for the update.

Insomniac Games has also cautioned players against using the debug menu, as it could interfere with the game's saves and trophy progress.

The error is unfortunate for Insomniac Games, which has had a rough couple of months. In addition to December's leaks, which included both creative and employee information, the studio was also affected by recent Sony layoffs
