Helldivers 2 Off to a Strong Start on PS5, PC, Currently Third Best-Selling Game on Steam

Helldivers 2 officially launches today, 8th February 2024, and it appears to be opening on a very strong footing. From what we can glean from publicly available data, Arrowhead's sci-fi co-op shooter seems to be performing very healthily on both PS5 and PC at this early stage.

On the European PS Store, the game is currently positioned as the seventh best-selling PS5 game, behind several predictable juggernauts and Persona 3 Reload (which, by the way, is itself a runaway success). More indicative of a strong launch day are the stats from Steam; at the time of writing, Helldivers 2 is third on the global top sellers list, and first in the US specifically. Moreover, the game has just over 50,000 concurrent players right now, and that figure will grow a lot as the day goes on.

It's only launch day, but it looks like the game is off to a very healthy start, and we imagine it'll enjoy a solid first weekend.
