The highly popular MMORPG from the East finally comes to the West

Gran Saga's global version is finally on the cards, with a release date in sight
  • Originally released in South Korea and Japan, grew very popular in the East
  • High-quality MMORPG with immersive storylines and characters
  • To be released globally on October 30th

Back in 2021, South Korean developer NPIXEL released Gran Saga, an MMORPG that quickly became extremely popular in the Eastern belt. It was downloaded millions of times and was regarded as one of the biggest games in this region. Finally, in 2023, the studio announced that a global version was in the works, which would allow fans all over the world to enjoy the smash hit title.

Post that announcement, there wasn’t much news, but NPIXEL has just dropped some major info as we have a release date in sight and it’s not too far away. Gran Saga is finally coming to Android and iOS worldwide, giving you a chance to immerse yourself in the RPG’s thrilling storyline as you take part in some of the most flashy and over-the-top anime-style battles.

As for the story, it begins long ago, when a massive war occurred between the Black Dragon Ismael and the Grand Knights. After major fights on both ends, the Grand Knights emerged victorious. However, the entire world lost because of the impact the war left on both sides. The game begins centuries later when the tale is now regarded as legend, with you, a young knight meeting a mysterious girl.

The original title was lauded for its characters and overall game quality as the voiceovers were done by quite captivating voice artists. On top of that, the soundtrack was a collaboration between two maestros, the famous Japanese composer Yoko Shimomura and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. I expect the global version to live up to the same quality.

Gran Saga is set to release on the App Store and Google Play worldwide on October 30th. Currently, pre-registrations aren’t open but storefront pages should go live soon. Until then, you can follow their official X page to stay updated on all the latest details.
