Best party compositions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

2 months ago 83

Choosing the right party composition for a fight can mean the difference between victory and defeat in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, especially with the game’s focus on Synergy attacks and combo moves. While you can use Materia to compensate for weaknesses, not every party member is suited for every encounter.

Thankfully, you have access to every party member from Final Fantasy 7 Remake at the beginning of the game with the addition of Red XIII as a fully playable character, and you’ll recruit Yuffie and Cait Sith later in the game to grant you even more freedom when it comes to building your perfect party. Sadly, Vincent and Cid aren’t playable even though they join your party later in Rebirth. You still have a lot of characters at your disposal, however, so these are the best party compositions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Cloud, Aerith, and Tifa

This is a fan-favorite lineup that plenty of people used in Remake, and it’s just as efficient in Rebirth. With Aerith focused entirely on magic damage and healing, Cloud and Tifa can remain on the frontline and deal a ton of damage. Tifa specializes in building up enemies’ Stagger gauges with her fists, while Cloud can deal incredible amounts of damage once foes are Staggered. These three work remarkably well together, so it’s worth equipping them with your best gear and Materia.

Cloud, Barret, and Aerith

If you’d rather go a different route, than using Cloud, Barret, and Aerith will help you beat most of the fights in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Cloud can keep enemies occupied on the frontline while Aerith and Barret pelt them with magical and physical attacks from afar. Barret and Aerith have super useful abilities that can capitalize on enemies’ weaknesses and build up their Stagger gauges fast, but they need breathing room to do so. Thankfully, Cloud’s melee-focused kit can draw the attention away from them.

Cloud, Yuffie, and Red XIII

If you want to use some of the new faces added to the party in Rebirth, then Cloud, Yuffie, and Red XIII are a highly lethal trio that can melt enemy health bars with ease. Yuffie’s elemental Ninjutsu ability lets her attack multiple weaknesses without spending any MP, and she becomes even more powerful after unlocking the Doppelganger ability later in the game. Red XIII’s Vengeance Mode not only lets him rip into enemies with lightning-fast attacks but also lets him help out the party with healing and buffs from weapon abilities he can learn later in the game.

Cloud, Cait Sith, and Tifa

This is a twist on the traditional party composition that has two offensive units and a healer. Cait Sith is a surprisingly capable support unit that can match Aerith’s healing output while offering multiple beneficial buffs for the party on top of that. His Moogle is great at drawing aggro from enemies, too, and his abilities let him increase Stagger damage, inflict multiple types of magical damage, and debuff enemies. With Caith Sith’s support, Cloud and Tifa can focus on Staggering enemies and dealing damage.

Cloud, Cait Sith, and Barret

This is one of the best party compositions in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth because each of these three characters brings something unique to the table. Cloud’s strengths are a given, and his high damage output is welcome in any team lineup. Barret can rapidly build up an enemy’s Stagger meter and is a shockingly capable caster as well (provided you equip him with the best Materia). Cait Sith can heal the two while they do their thing, but his arsenal of buffs will make them even stronger. Plus, his Moogle can draw attention away from Barret so he can safely fire from afar, too.
