Wuthering Waves gacha rates and pity system explained

3 weeks ago 78

If you’re trying to pull a limited character in Wuthering Waves, you’ll be happy to hear that there’s a pity system that ensures you can obtain them as long as you throw enough money and resources at the game.

Learning the hard and soft pity limits is one of the first things you should do when familiarizing yourself with a new gacha game, and while Wuthering Waves draws a lot of inspiration from another open-world anime RPG gacha game that shall not be named. Here’s what you need to know about the Wuthering Waves pity system.

Wuthering Waves Gacha Rates Listed

Wuthering Waves borrows most of its gacha mechanics from other games in the genre, so the rates are similar to what you’d see elsewhere.

You’re guaranteed to get a 5-star Resonator after 80 pulls on a character banner, and the rate at which you draw 5-star units is 0.8%. The rate for 4-star Resonators and weapons on character banners is 6%. The same goes for weapon Convenes, where the rate for pulling a 5-star item is 0.8% and the rate for pulling 4-star items is 6%.

On all banners, the probability of obtaining a 3-star item is 93.2%. Plus, you’re guaranteed to get a 4-star item every 10 pulls.

Wuthering Waves Pity System Explained

Wuthering Waves has a pity system just like most other gacha games. The hard pity limit is 80 for both character and weapons Convenes. There’s a 50/50 for limited 5-star Resonators, however, so you may not get the featured character for your first 5-star pull. The second 5-star you pull from that banner is guaranteed to be the featured Resonator if you lose the first 50/50, though.

Weapon Convenes do not have a 50/50 system in Wuthering Waves. The hard pity is still 80 for weapons, but the first 5-star weapon you obtain from the banner is guaranteed to be the featured one.

At the moment, we don’t know if there is a soft pity system in Wuthering Waves. There are conflicting answers from the beta tests. Some people report that there is no soft pity system at all, while others think that soft pity begins at around 65 pulls or so with gacha rates slowly increasing from there. Kuro’s previous title, Punishing Gray Raven, has no soft pity. However, Wuthering Waves draws a lot of inspiration from Hoyoverse titles, which do have soft pity. We’ll update this post once we learn more from the official release.

If the gacha gods don’t look favorably upon you, causing you to lose your 50/50 or have terrible luck with pulls, then you’ll be pleased to learn that there are a ton of ways to get free units in Wuthering Waves. These include 5-star Resonators, too, so you can build up a solid team without spending a dime.
