Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (COD: MW3) is set to release on 10th November, 2023. Fans of the game are left wondering if Modern Warfare 3 will have crossplay. In terms of crossplay compatibility, fans have great hopes for the upcoming Call of Duty game before the release of MW3. Here is all we know about Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 crossplay.

Will Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have crossplay?

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: MW3 will come with crossplay when it releases in a few weeks. Crossplay has been a common feature in Call of Duty games. Since 2019 with the release of Modern Warfare, crossplay has been a staple of the series, so no matter what platform you’re playing on; PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or PC there will be crossplay.

Along with this unified playing experience, crossplay allows for cross-progression, which means your progression in one game will carry over across all platforms linked to the same Activision account, regardless of console generation. With the release of Modern Warfare 3 coming up, players are left wondering about what will be carried forward. However, having crossplay means players can share their level, stats, and most significantly, skins or blueprints, across platforms.

Game progression is stored on your Activision account. Your progression (stats, rank, weapon, and camo progression) and unlocked content (camos and other customization items) will be available on all platforms as long as you play on the same linked Activision account where you originally earned the progress and unlocked the content. Activision is also looking to integrate their mobile titles with their PC games.

Is there an option to manage crossplay?

Console players have the option to enable or disable crossplay. PlayStation players can control their crossplay option through the in-game Settings. Note that on PlayStation, crossplay is turned on by default.

  • Open the Options menu.

  • Navigate to Settings and select Account & Network.

  • Select your Crossplay option.

Xbox consoles have a built-in feature to manage crossplay settings within their console settings.

  • Open the Guide menu from the Xbox dashboard.

  • Navigate to the Settings menu.

  • In the General tab, select Online safety & family.

  • Select Privacy & online safety.

  • Select Xbox Live privacy.

  • Select View details & customize.

  • Select Communication & multiplayer.

  • Select Allow or Block crossplay in the You can play with people outside Xbox Live column.
