When is the new Warzone season release date? There have been many changes to Warzone over the years; new maps drop with semi-regularity and new weapons are released with each new season, but this season of Warzone promises to shake things up quite dramatically. Not only did we get a new playground, but fundamental changes to how the game plays. Exciting stuff.
The battle royale game received a considerable update during season 1, and we have all the information available right now so you can be as prepared as possible for when you jump in. Warzone is set to make a resurgence, and we’re ready. From a new map to new, more responsive movement abilities, here is everything that came with Warzone Season 1 Reloaded.
Warzone Season 2 Reloaded release date estimate
The Warzone Season 2 release date is expected on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. You can expect the game to update at 9AM PT / 2PM ET / 5PM GMT.
This update will include new gameplay content, alongside a seasonal patch which will balance changes and provide a fairer playing field, bringing with it an update to the Warzone meta. Nothing official has been announced, but as soon as it is we’ll update this guide.
In the past, new seasons have added new guns, new maps, and new game modes, to name but a few. We anticipate the above release date due to the current season’s in-game battle pass expiring on the same day. In the past, new seasons have rolled out on the same day the battle pass expires.
New Warzone weapons
With each new Warzone season, new weapons are usually added. We’ve not received any official word from Activision yet as to what is going to be added, but we estimate that the following new guns will be added to Warzone:
- FN2000 – This classic weapon was originally released in Vanguard under a different name, the BP-50. It was a beloved assault rifle that became OP thanks to its ACOG scope attachment.
- ARX-160 – This has been rumored amongst the community for some time, with many expecting the burst-fire AR to be added in the S1 Reloaded patch.
New Warzone map
Fortune’s Keep will return to Warzone in 2024. This was confirmed in a COD Next broadcast, which stated that both Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island would be returning to the battle royale mode, with Fortune’s Keep releasing first, in early 2024.
Rebirth Island is confirmed to follow “later in 2024”. Ted Timmins, the senior creative director at Raven Software, also confirmed that the addition of these two maps is being led by High Moon Studios and Beenox, the teams that originally designed and launched them.
It’s unclear whether the maps will see many differences from their original versions, but we do know that consoles already have access to an FOV slider that wasn’t present in the original version of Warzone.
Warzone x The Walking Dead crossover
It’s been rumored for some time that Warzone may get a collaboration with The Walking Dead. While this hasn’t been confirmed as yet, we would expect exclusive operators similar to the crossover with The Boys.
If it’s going to drop at any time, Season 2 would be the moment, as The Ones Who Live prepares to release. This limited series is a spin-off from The Walking Dead and is due for release on February 25, 2024.
We’d expect to see Rick Grimes added as a potential new operator skin, as he features on the key art for The Ones Who Live. The big collaborations tend to happen with the reloaded version of the season, so it’s likely that we’ll see this crossover with Warzone Season 2 Reloaded later in the month.
