- Shadow Fight 3 is re-launched in China
Shadow Fight 3, the third entry in the popular 3D beat-em up series, has successfully returned to the Chinese market thanks to a recent partnership between the series’ developer, Nekki, and publisher Wanda Cinema Games.
Wanda Cinema Games' successful lobbying for Shadow Fight 3’s return is highly significant, as the game was just one of 98 titles to be granted an ISBN licence by China's State Administration of Press and Publication (SAPP) last year. What’s more, the relaunch clearly demonstrates the lucrative potential of the Chinese gaming market, with over ten times higher revenues coming from an equivalent amount of daily active users from China as the global version - an impressive figure that’s been largely attributed to the implementation of Wanda Cinema Games’ localised marketing strategy.
Whilst the boost in Shadow Fight 3 revenues is certainly good news for Nekki, the more exciting news for us is the potential this move has for the Cyprus-based developer to leverage Wanda Cinema Games’ advertising resources to explore new ventures for its IP.
Nekki has already made moves towards developing a feature film in tandem with its latest gaming project, SPINE, so the potential for the Shadow Fight series to develop into an even more epic franchise is very promising indeed.
