Ubisoft will not be attending E3 this year

Ubisoft has announced that they will not be attending this year’s E3 event. However, they will be hosting their own event around the same time.

After the news earlier this year that multiple companies such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft won’t be attending E3, the blows continue. Now it appears that Ubisoft will also not be in attendance.

Ubisoft Forward Live Event

However, Ubisoft have announced that they will host a Ubisoft Forward Live Event on June 12. It will take place in Los Angeles and will give us a sneak peek on what the publishers have been working on.

This could mean we see updates about some of their highly-anticipated titles, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

This news comes after VGC was recently contacted by a Ubisoft spokesperson. They claimed that Ubisoft was planning to “move in a different direction” rather than attending E3. This comes after the company confirmed they would be attending back in February

“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years,” the VGC spokesperson continued.

“While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”

Perhaps not a grand return

This is another blow for this year’s E3 with yet another big publisher pulling out. With the event originally hoping to be the first big thing since canceling during the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems it will no longer be that way.

With many of the studios not attending instead planning to host their own events, we are still yet to hear of EA’s plans. Additionally, many upcoming titles could instead be part of the Summer Games Fest that will air later this year.
