Transformers: Galactic Trials – Everything We Know

1 month ago 81

The Transformers franchise has tens of releases across different platforms. From consoles and PCs to handheld and mobile games, you will find a title to play on every platform. Despite many creators and publishers, most releases have been a hit. Perhaps this explains why the game continues with releases 40 years on.

Currently, there are two upcoming games from the IP, with all eyes fixed on Transformers: Galactic Trials. The developers recently revealed the game with its announcement trailer, sparking an exciting fan-anxiety.

The game appears to set a new pace for titles in the series. Fortunately, it continues to embed the true elements of the original game. For those who wish to get the details before the game’s full release, here is everything we know about Transformers: Galactic Trials

What is Transformers: Galactic Trials?

Transformers Galactic Trials

Transformers: Galactic Trials is an upcoming title from the video game developer 3DClouds. The game thrusts players into the deep action with a fusion of racing and rogue-lite combat. As a battle-race game, the title deviates from the previous game’s action-adventure with a hack-and-slash playstyle. It becomes the first-ever racing game in the long-standing Transformers video game franchise. Like with the original entry, Transformers: Galactic Trials still features the Autobots and Decepticons. But this time, the Nemesis Prime is the enemy. Only the original game's Autobots, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, appear in Galactic Trials. For the Decepticons, only Megatron and Soundwave appear.

Story

Transformers Galactic Trials

The Transformers: Galactic Trials follows a different story from its predecessors, ultimately altering its gameplay. It still centers on the Autobots and the Decepticons but with a new and common rival, the evil Nemesis Prime. The Nemesis Prime is Optimus Prime’s dark mirror, which wears a hero’s face but strikes immense fear into its victims. The Nemesis Prime enjoys much of the Autobot leaders’ flair but, on the flip side, lacks moral restraint.

He will always trigger terror and destruction, and in this case, he’s responsible for the missing Prime Relics. The Prime Relics are pieces of ancient artifacts that bequeath extraordinary powers to anyone who possesses them. The Autobots and the Decepticons are now on an explosive mission to secure Cybertron’s future by returning the Relics from Nemesis Prime.

Gameplay

Fighting as bots

Deflecting from most of the games before it, which were mostly comprised of RPGs and shooters, Transformers: Galactic Trials adopts an arcade racing playstyle. Put your speed to the test in the 10 racing circuits as one of the Autobots or the Decepticons. You have a range of iconic selections from both sides. Take your runs as Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Megatron, or Soundwave, and race in the vehicle or bot form. Each of the characters appears in a particular order.

Accelerate on the circuits while drifting and boosting to charge up your Energon before unleashing devastating moves in the race battles. Players can auto-switch modes at specific points on the racetracks. Move from speed races in vehicle mode to explosive combat in robot mode. Take out your enemies and eliminate them from the race in the exciting rogue-lite action. At the same time, collect the Relics from the racetracks to unlock new skills for your character, along with new characters and skins. The full Autobots characters lists also include Wheeljack, Elita-1, and Arcee. You will also have the Decepticons Flamewar, Shockwave, and Nightbird. What’s more, even Transformers that never converted into trucks and cars previously will now have a vehicular reimagining. The ultimate goal is to destroy all opponents and emerge first on the finish line.

You can equip up to three distinct weapons and a similar number of Relics between races. That way, you can earn extra perks in your gameplay.

Players can choose to explore the new Cybertronian world in any of the game’s two modes. Dive into the Transformers: Galactic Trials action alone and progress through the levels in a single-player mode. It’s the primary game mode with a level-based progression that allows you to access new characters and skin and pick more Relics. Alternatively, you can play the Arcade mode, the game’s multiplayer option that supports up to two players who engage in quick local races. You can also participate in exclusive location-based Galactic Trials tournaments.
