Tom Henderson has seemingly cast doubt over the PS5 Pro release happening this year, even though Sony Interactive Entertainment itself hasn’t even officially announced the console yet after years of speculation.

Rumours about the PS5 Pro release have been doing the rounds for a while now, and is is widely believed that it will arrive at some point in late 2024. However, speaking on X, Henderson was asked about the PS5 Pro’s announcement, he replied, If it releases this year!”

This may just be a case of him making an innocuous comment to fuel the fire, as nothing is official yet and it hasn’t even been announced by Sony. However, Henderson has long been a source of info for the PS5 Pro, so there is a chance he might have heard something that he’s not willing to expound on yet.

In terms of specifications that have been doing the rounds online, the PS5 Pro CPU isn’t said to be a drastic increase over the original console, but will take advantage of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). The PS5 Pro is also believed to be slightly smaller than the regular PS5, and could carry a $500 price tag.
