Tekken 8 Team Addresses The Issue Of Pluggers In Online Matches

2 months ago 74

Speaking during the latest Tekken Talk episode, Tekken 8 developers Michael Murray, Katsuhiro Harada, and Kohei Ikda discussed the ongoing issue of pluggers during online matches, whereby people disconnect to avoid losses.

Right now Tekken 8 doesn’t offer any form of penalty system for pulling the plug, so people are free to quit matches without fear of incurring any punishment. However, the team revealed that it is working to sort rage quitters going forward.

First of all, the disconnect rate counter is going to be implemented so that people can avoid those with a high rate of plugging, with the developers looking to ban quitters in the future. While it is possible to get a warning at first, constant plugging will result in a temporary or even permanent ban.

Bandai Namco Games is advising players to report rage quitters by either navigating to their profile and reporting them for disconnecting from matches intentionally, which will be monitored by the team. The other method is to record the match at share it on Twitter under the hashtag #T8_report.

Tekken 8 is now available for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our full review here.
