IGN has gone live with a new video for Tekken 8, this time shining the spotlight on the game’s Arcade Quest mode, which is where players design an avatar and hang out in mini-arcade learning the ropes and forming friendships.
While the cutesy aesthetic may seem at odds with the muscle-bound brawlers in Tekken 8, Arcade Quest is very much a great starting point for newcomers, and even veterans may get something out of it too. For starters, you’ll be able to get to grips with the game’s Heat mechanics and practice various techniques, and playing matches will earn you money that you can then spend on customisation items.
Tekken 8 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on January 26, 2024. The game’s main story mode focuses on the battle between Kazuya Mishima and his son Jin Kazama, although Bandai Namco revealed that all characters will have ‘what-if’ story episodes.
