 The Elder Scrolls Is Now 30 Years Old As We Await Xbox's First Series Entry

Believe it or not, today marks the 30th anniversary of Bethesda's legendary Elder Scrolls series. The franchise's PC debut — The Elder Scrolls: Arena — launched on March 25th, 1994 - and it's safe to say that the team hasn't looked back since.

Three decades on, and in the wake of an astronomically successful mainstream hit in the form of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, we're still waiting for the first Elder Scrolls game since Microsoft bought Bethesda. It's hard to wrap our heads around, but yep, The Elder Scrolls 6 will be an Xbox first-party release when it arrives.

Of course, in recent months the landscape has changed, with Xbox bringing some of its titles to other platforms - not to mention its list of third-party Call of Duty deals to come in the wake of the ActiBlizz takeover. Regardless of where Skyrim's sequel ends up releasing, we're still incredibly excited for its huge launch.
