Take-Two, the publisher with Rockstar and 2K under its belt has begun another round of layoffs across multiple branches of its business, including its indie publisher Private Division.

Private Division has recently published titles like Kerbal Space Program 2, OlliOlli World, Rollerdrome, and Hades.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports that Take-Two spokesperson Alan Lewis says the layoffs ” ‘will better align our organization with our long-term priorities’ and that the impact on dev teams is ‘minimal.’ ”

The true effect of these layoffs has yet to be felt, though it is never a good thing to hear coming from anywhere in the industry.

It’s especially disheartening to see this happen to a publisher that has helped bring some of the best indie titles in the last few years to the industry.

This isn’t the first round of layoffs we’ve seen from Take-Two in 2023 however, as Rockstar was initially hit with layoffs, probably due to Grand Theft Auto V not selling enough copies.
