The final two teams left in the running for the Summoner’s Cup at the League of Legends World Championship aka Worlds 2023 were decided last weekend on 11th and 12th November. After five weeks of close series, electrifying games and intense competition among 22 teams around the world, just two remain standing tall and proud. The Worlds 2023 grand finalists are Weibo Gaming (WBG) and T1.
Ahead of this promising five-game series between T1 vs WBG, fans will also be treated to a scintillating opening ceremony featuring NewJeans and Heartsteel.

LPL vs LCK in Worlds 2023 Finals 2: T1 Pitted Against WBG
Before we get into the details of the finals matchup. Here's a quick recap of what transpired in the semis at Worlds 2023. In the first semifinal, Weibo Gaming (WBG) faced Bilibili Gaming. While most people expected Bilibili Gaming to win, Weibo stunned the lot by winning the series with a 3-2 scoreline.
Now that Weibo Gaming is all set for the finals, fans are excited to see Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok, the top-laner, to play his second Worlds finals since 2017. Notably, TheShy won the championship that year. Meanwhile, mid-laner Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao will be playing his first-ever Worlds finals in his decade-long esports career and seven Worlds appearances.
Meanwhile, in the second semi-final, T1 bested JD Gaming from China with a 3-1 scoreline, preventing an all LPL [League of Legends Pro League] finale at Worlds 2023.
The second bracket was one of the most highly anticipated matches of Worlds 2023. JD Gaming, poised to win every competition this year, faced off against T1, the winningest team in the history of LoL Esports. With super plays here and there, T1 won 3-1 and reached the finals.
Now, T1 and WBG will face each other one last time to be crowned the winner of Worlds 2023 on 19th November at the Gocheok Skydome in Seoul, South Korea.
T1 vs WBG: Head-to-Head Record In 2023
There are only two international tournaments scheduled in a year in League of Legends esports. The first one is the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the last one is the coveted Worlds.
In 2023, only T1 made it to MSI 2023 which took place in London, United Kingdom. Weibo Gaming (WBG) did not make MSI 2023. As a result, T1 and WBG have not gone head-to-head in the 2023 competitive season yet.
However, Xiaohu has faced Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok multiple times over the last decade. Likewise, another storyline to closely follow would be the one between TheShy and Faker.

Likewise, Xiaohu and TheShy will look to clinch the title together. While Xiaohu has won multiple MSIs before, he would want to etch his name on the Summoner's Cup.
