Sony took impressive first steps forward with the original PlayStation VR headset, but PS VR2, which launched a year ago, hasn’t seen the level of success that many had hoped for. Though it certainly boasts significantly improved hardware, support for the device has been minimal at best, and sales haven’t been too impressive either.

Sony, however, is taking some interesting steps to bolster the PS VR2’s library. In a PlayStation Blog rundown of some of the device’s notable upcoming titles (including the likes of Metro Awakening), Sony has confirmed that it’s currently testing PC compatibility for PS VR2, and that it hopes to add support for PC games to the device sometime this year.

“We’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5,” Sony wrote. “We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.”

What the extent of this support will be remains to be seen, but it’s an interesting way to beef up the PlayStation VR2’s library of games nonetheless. Of course, the real question is- will Half-Life: Alyx be playable on the device?
