Search Mission Quest in Escape from Tarkov Explained

Search Mission quest is an exploration-type task in Escape from Tarkov given by trader Pavel Yegorovich Romanenko also known by his alias "Prapor." It takes place on Woods, the third location that was added to the game. Notably, the Escape From Tarkov Search Mission quest will test the knowledge of the map since you need to find a bunch of locations on Woods. Players can only begin the Search Mission quest if they have hit level five in the game and they should have also completed the Debut quest from Prapor.

Search Mission Quest Guide

The three main objectives of the Search Mission quest are as follows:

Locate Prapor’s missing convoy on Woods
Locate the temporary USEC camp
Survive and extract from the location

You will be delighted to know that the USEC camp and the missing convoy are located close to each other so if you find one, you can easily spot the other. The most difficult part of this quest is to find these two and extract from the location safely in one attempt.

The first two objectives of the quest are located next to each other on the northwest corner of Woods. While Prapor’s missing convoy is on the road just south of the radio tower, the USEC camp is directly west of the convoy in the middle of a rocky area, a bit away from the roads.

Players need to be careful while moving towards the USEC encampment as the area is covered with land mines on the west and northwest. Additionally, the mines are not visible and they respawn every time they detonate. However, the locations of the landmine fields are indicated by signposts along the exterior of the map.

You can start from the Sawmill to go to the USEC camp and this location is easy to spot since it is right at the base of the lake in the center of Woods. Be vigilant since Scav boss Shturman can roam in this area.
