Indian esports caster Harshdeep “SardarJi” Singh recently expressed his views on the journey of Team SouL’s Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) and New State Mobile professional player Sohail “Hector” Shaikh. He stated that Hector’s main game was BGMI, and he should play whatever game he believes he is good at. SardarJi also noted that Hector faced a lot of criticism in his early days, but once he started performing well, the criticism stopped.

SardarJi shuts down Hector’s critics

In a recent livestream, one of SardarJi’s viewers told him that Hector put on an incredible performance in New State Mobile but was not able to replicate the same performance in BGMI, and asked his opinion on whether Hector should stick to New State Mobile instead of BGMI. Responding to this, he stated that the main game for Hector was BGMI as he started his esports journey from BGMI and that he should play whatever game he believes he is good at. He further added that if Hector is not currently good at a game, he will be soon in the future, as one only gets better after playing.

SardarJi further stated that Hector had faced a lot of hate and criticism in his initial phase in Team SouL, with people calling him a liability and other negative comments. However, once Hector started performing well, everyone stopped criticizing him. “Now that Hector has played New State Mobile, haters will say that he should keep playing it. But he had also top-fragged in that game, what about that? He became MVP (most valuable player) in that game as well, what about that?” he added.

Hector joined Team SouL in March 2022. However, in his initial phase on the team, many believed that he was the weak link in the team. Despite this doubt and criticism, Hector proved himself as one of the finest players in the coming months by winning the BGMI Pro Series and representing India in the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022.

Amidst BGMI’s unavailability, Hector decided to switch to New State Mobile in December 2022. Initially, he faced some challenges and failed to secure high-position finishes in tournaments, like the Snapdragon Pro Series New State Mobile, where he finished in 16th position. However, his performance improved over time. In February, he won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the Esports Wala ELITE SCRIMS with 52 finishes in 25 matches. But following the conclusion of this tournament, he quit New State Mobile and switched back to BGMI.
