RPG Maker With Will Let You Make Games With Others

The latest edition of RPG Maker, RPG Maker With, will come out on the Nintendo Switch. You’ll be able to make games right on your Switch. As well, you’ll be able to share assets with other RPG Maker With players, meaning that you’ll be able to collaborate with other developers. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

There’s no expected release window yet. As well, the No. 1820 issue of Famitsu, which will come out on October 19, 2023, will cover more details on what’s new in this version of the program. Some screenshots that Famitsu shared shows them designing a map using various assets and layers, as well as an in-development screen of a battle.

While there is not much information on what new tools you’ll be able to use, we can see that there are four main options in the main menu. You can look for a game, upload a game, look for an asset, and upload an asset. You can also keep track of everything you’ve downloaded or uploaded in the program itself.

RPG Maker is a series of RPG development programs, and it originally came out in 1992. Some notable games developed with the programs aren’t even RPGs. For example, Ib, Yume Nikki, Angels of Death, Ao Oni, Omori, and Corpse Party are closer to horror or adventure games with some RPG elements.
