The third edition of Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games is all set to take place from 12th to 16th December.

The multi-title esports tournament will feature five events across four games including Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, Street Fighter 6, and eFootball 2024.

In total, about 250 participants from 56 countries will be competing in the final stage of this tournament.

The flagship multi-title esports tournament Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games (GEG 2023) has returned with its third edition and will be running from 12th to 16th December.

This grand competition will be hosted by the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) and presented by the Global Esports Federation (GEF), featuring more than 250 participants representing over 50 nations across four renowned titles including Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, Street Fighter 6, and eFootball 2024.

Set to start in less than a week's time, GEG 2023 will take place on a grand stage, broadcasted live from Saudi eLeagues, Riyadh, which is the core of esports in Saudi Arabia and holds together all the tournaments that take place in the country.


Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games: Complete Details

GEG 2023 is an Olympic-style esports tournament where players represent their respective countries instead of a club or organization, going against players from other countries and trying to win the event not for themselves but for their entire nation.

An initial stage consisting of various qualifiers for all the titles was conducted, attracting participation from 1,165 players from 104 countries. However, only about 250 participants were able to qualify for the final stage from 56 nations.

Here are details about all five esports events that will be played as part of the Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games.


Riyadh 2023 Global Esports Games: Dota 2 Open

This will be a LAN tournament in which eight qualifying countries will take on each other across five days of the GEG 2023.

It will be an exciting clash as all participants will give their absolute best but only one will triumph as the global champion.

Date

  • 12th December to 16th December

Format

  • It will follow a single-elimination bracket

  • All the matches feature best-of-three series

This will also be a LAN tournament but only consist of teams with complete female lineups. Once again, the eight qualifying countries will go against each other across three days to crown the global champion.

From here on, the last nation left standing will be crowned as the champion.

This popular sports title which is published by Konami will witness participation from 28 countries with one athlete representing each nation.

The event will begin with a round-robin group stage which will transition into a single-elimination final stage. From here on, the last country left standing will be crowned as the champion.

  • 13th December to 15th December

Format

  • The initial group stage will split the participants into four groups of seven countries each.

  • Every group will follow a round-robin format.

  • The top four teams from each group will qualify for the final stage.

  • The teams that qualify for the final stage will follow a single-elimination format.

  • The country that makes it to the end will be crowned as the champion.

This will be the debut season for the title which is played by many across the world. A total of 16 countries are participating in this event which will follow a point system to crown the champion after two days of intense action.

  • This event will follow a point system based on which all 16 teams will be ranked on a leaderboard.

  • The team on top of the leaderboard after all matches are played out with be crowned as the champion.
