PSVR 2 And Sense Controller Receive Detailed Teardown From Sony Engineers

Sony Interactive Entertainment has posted a detailed teardown video for the PSVR 2 and its Sense controllers, offering a glimpse into the innards of the company’s latest VR headset. The videos feature Takamasa Araki (Hardware Design Division, Mechanical Design Development) and Takeshi Igarashi (Hardware Design Division, Peripheral Design Department).

PSVR 2 is scheduled for release on February 22, 2023 and will feature around 30 games rolling into stores during its launch window. You can watch an unboxing video for PSVR 2 here. The PSVR 2 will retail for $549.99/£529.99.

PSVR 2 features a number of enhancements over its predecessor, including tracking player moments through four cameras mounted on the headset itself, rather than an external PlayStation Camera. The device also features headset feedback including subtle haptic effects, while the Sense controllers adopt the same haptic feedback and adaptive trigger effects as the DualSense pad.
