PSN Is Currently Down, Seemingly a Widespread Issue

It appears that Sony's PlayStation Network is currently experiencing issues. The online network and its associated features and services are seemingly down as of right now. Indeed, the PSN service status webpage has flagged all services in the red, including online play, PS Store, and account management.

Additionally, there are thousands of reports of issues with PSN within the last hour or so on the Down Detector website. We've yet to see direct confirmation from PlayStation itself about the matter, but presumably its staff is currently working on the problems.
