PS5 February 2023 Sales In Japan Up 457% On Previous Year

According to GameDataLibrary figures (via Genki on Twitter), Japanese sales of Sony’s PS5 in February 2023 were up by an earth-shattering 457% year-on-year, as the console continues to gain significant traction now that stock shortages are a thing of the past.

To be precise, the PS5 sold 65,772 units in February 2022 but last month the system managed to shift 366,982. Sony’s current-generation console also moved more units last month than the first four months of 2022 combined in Japan. In addition, February 2023 was the first month since February 2018 that the Nintendo Switch was not the best-selling console in Japan.
