If you’re just starting out in Pokémon Go, it’s best to begin with the lower-tier Raids if they are available. It is also possible to encounter Shiny variants, which will include creatures like Buzzwole, Xurkitree, and Pheromosa. However, Stakataka and Blacephalon are the only ones that do not have Shiny forms.

You’ll typically need a team to last longer in the Raids, especially for the more formidable fights. On the other hand, trainers do have the choice to try out solo in the One to Three Star ranks. But, once you get to higher tiers, such as Five Stars and Mega, you should opt in for a group.

Some Raid Pokémon are exclusive to specific regions, including the Ultra Beasts Blacephalon and Stakataka. Thus, the battles for these particular creatures depend on your current location (as long as an Ultra Beast raid is active.) Remote Raid Passes are available for those who want to access these unique types anywhere in the world.

In addition to Raids, you can look forward to a few other events that will bring out even more Pokémon in the wilds:

All Pokémon Go July 2024 events

  • Aquatic Paradise [July 6 at 10 a.m. to July 9 at 8 p.m.]
  • Inbound from Ultra Space [July 8 at 10 a.m. to July 13 at 10 a.m.]
  • Pokémon Go Fest 2024: Global [July 13 at 10 a.m. to July 14 at 10 a.m.]
  • Ultra Unlock Part 1: Better Together [July 17 at 10 a.m. to July 22 at 8 p.m.]
  • July Community Day [July 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.]

  • Ultra Unlock Part 3: Mega Raid Day [July 27 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.]

Niantic has already given us the inside scoop on most events, starting with the Aquatic Paradise. Water-type Pokémon will be the main focus here, including Horsea, Staryu, and Clamperl. Most of the Raid schedule also covers the Inbound from Ultra Space event, where you can encounter the elite Ultra Beasts.

As for the Pokémon Go Fest, tickets are still available for purchase to get you ready for its global launch. It’s perfect for those who don’t live in the selected areas for the event, giving trainers the chance to play from anywhere.

Other events, like the July Community Day, are much more time-restrictive, so you will need to tune in before the day concludes. You can also look forward to bonuses while it’s active, from an increased Stardust intake to longer Lure Module durations.
