Pokémon Go Announces Tadbulb Debut During Festival of Lights Event 2023

Niantic has already unveiled the agenda for November and one that catches the eye of every Indian Pokémon Go fan is the Festival of Lights event. While celebrating the joyful festival of Diwali, Niantic has extended its welcome to Pokémon Go players from all over the world to partake in this event. This is the third annual Festival of Lights event and certainly not the last. 

There are so many exciting rewards waiting to unfold during this festival. But the news that steals the show is the debut of a new Pokémon in the game. The Pokémon is called Tadbulb and there is a lot of buzz surrounding this one.

Festival of Lights Event Date and Time

The event will commence on 7th November 2023 at 10:00 AM local time (IST for India). Fans can revel in the joy of this event till 12th November till 8:00 PM local time (IST for India). 

Speaking about this exciting event, Omar Tellez, the Vice President of Emerging Markets at Niantic, expressed his great joy in catering to the Indian market during the festive season.

He said, “Our commitment to Indian trainers continues with the Festival of Lights event in Pokémon GO for the third year. Celebrate Deepawali with glowing Pokémon, animated poses, collection challenges, and Tadbulb encounters. This year we have also launched Hindi language support, reinforcing our dedication to India's growing gaming audience and diverse culture, with more exciting activities on the horizon for our Indian communities.” 


Debuts During Festival of Lights Event

The EleTadpole Pokémon, Tadbulb, and its evolution, Bellibolt, will make their Pokémon Go debuts during the festival. Players have been looking forward to new Pokémon releases for a long time, and they are in for a ride. Many new Pokémon were unveiled during the Halloween event in October 2023, and it seems like they’ll also have new Pokémon releases in November. 

Trainers can evolve Tadbulb into Bellibolt using 50 Tadbulb Candy, which they will be able to collect in the game as rewards with exclusive tasks. 


Exclusive Bonuses for Trainers in India

Trainers in India have a lot more in their hands during this event. It seems like Niantic is giving them a Diwali gift which is a Special Collection Challenge. This will not only grant them Stardust, XP, and a chance to encounter Tadbulb but also double the Candy rewards for capturing Pokémon throughout the Festival of Lights event!

So, if you reside in India, this is a great opportunity to collect these rewards!


Festival of Lights Event 2023 Bonuses

New avatar item

Just like other exclusive festivals or events, Niantic has introduced a custom avatar item for the Festival of Lights event. Players can purchase it from the shop during the event. However, the good news is that it will still be available after the event ends! 

Timed Research

Throughout the event, you'll have the opportunity to engage in exclusive, timed research tasks. These missions are made to encourage you to explore and capture various Pokémon. Upon completing these research tasks, you can get a chance to unlock a special event-themed shirt avatar item and encounter Pokémon that match the festival's theme.

PokéStop Showcases

Keep an eye out for showcases at different PokéStops during the Festival of Light event. This is where you can enter Litwick and Tadbulb.
