Path of Exile 2 Closed Beta Launch Date – Everything You Need To Know

9 months ago 267

Path of Exile 2 developers Grinding Gear Games has revealed when players can expect the first closed beta for its sequel. Here’s what we know.

Despite originally starting off as an expansion for Path of Exile, Path of Exile 2 has become a fully fledged sequel on a very large scale.

Now in the wake of its competitor, Diablo 4, hitting some snags with its fanbase, the PoE developers have released when we can expect the first closed beta.

Path of Exile 2 Closed Beta Launch Date

The closed beta will go live on June 7, 2024. Although there is a bit of a wait, the team promises it will be worth it for fans of the original.

This will be due to the sequel consisting of 6 campaigns, 100 unique environments, 600 monster types and 100 unique boss fights. Additionally, players will have access to 240 skills and 700 equipment types.

PoE 2 will also feature a 1500-node strong passive skill tree which is a big step up from the one featured in the original game. Another change will be the arrival of six new classes on top of the pre-existing six.

What is even more unique is how the closed beta will run. Whereas most developers will offer up a portion of the game for players to experience in beta, Grinding Gear Games is releasing the entire game which will run for at least a few months.

Although this is a big undertaking for the team, they believe this will be the best way for them to fine tune every aspect of the game thanks to player feedback.

However, if you are currently an avid player of Path of Exile, both the original and sequel will receive updates and seasonal support throughout this time.
