Overwatch 2 has planned plenty of changes that will be made to the game along with the Season 7 mid-season patch.

Most prominently, multiple Support Heroes will be undergoing balance changes in the form of ability nerfs to hamper their sustain and survivability.

Here are complete details about changes that players can expect to see along with the Overwatch 2 Season 7 mid-season update.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 which was released on 10th October is still quite a few weeks away from its mid-season patch. However, plans for it have already been laid well in advance and shared with the community by Aaron Keller, Game Director of Overwatch 2.

In the latest edition of Director's Take, ideas were shared about what community members can expect in terms of Hero changes, Roadhog rework, and upcoming events.

One thing in particular that has been outlined by Aaron Keller is that multiple Support Heroes will be undergoing changes in terms of utility, targeting their overall sustain and survivability that is present in the game currently.

Here is everything you can expect from the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Mid-Season Patch which will be going live after a couple of weeks.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 Mid-Season Patch: Complete Details

Hero Reworks

Sombra

Aaron outlines the popularity of Sombra following her rework, witnessing a jump in win rate by 4% to 5%. However, developers are still looking to explore the effectiveness of her ultimate (EMP) and the frequency of her cooldowns.

Roadhog

Talking about the Roadhog rework, Aaron revealed that his primary fire would undergo a change, his ability 'Take a Breather' underwent a change, and the addition of a whole new ability. Unfortunately, this rework has been delayed and will not be arriving along with the mid-season patch.

Hero Balance Changes

There has been an outcry from the community to nerf Support Heroes and that is exactly what is going to happen with multiple characters going on the chopping board. Their abilities will be targetted to decrease their overall sustain and survivability.

Apart from this, a slight nerf for Bastion is being planned, mostly around his Assault Form.

Upcoming Events

After witnessing the success of the ongoing Halloween Terror Event, developers are planning on creating an extended version of 'Trials of Sanctuary' game mode, consisting of more progression and player choice.

Later this month, a collaboration with Le Sserafim has been confirmed. This will be followed by BlizzCon, where the next Tank Hero to join Overwatch 2 will be revealed, along with a roadmap of what else is coming in 2023 and 2024.

Gameplay Changes

Based on community feedback, developers will be turning their focus towards improving the competitive mode, Battle Pass experience, and in-game shop.

Out of these, details about the reworked competitive game mode will be shared at BlizzCon. However, the remaining things have been kept on the backburner for now and will be worked upon early next year.

Legendary Skins

Following community outcry about Lilith Moira Legendary Skin only being available as part of the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle which costs $39,99 USD.

The developers have decided that moving forward they will plan different ways in which players will be able to acquire some of their most popular skins of the game.

These are some of the changes and features that players can expect will be added to the game along with the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Update. It will be exciting to see which Heroes actually undergo buffs and nerfs, how it shapes the meta moving forward, and all the rewards that will be available with the upcoming events.
