The Riyadh Masters 2023 is underway with the first few series of Day 1 concluding, where some teams have risen to the occasion, while others were unable to secure crucial victories.

In the first two groups of series, OG could not manage to win its first two series against Quest Esports and beastcoast, leaving them with a 0-4 score.

As the Play-Ins continue, OG will have to regroup and focus on winning their next few series to avoid being eliminated from the first stage of the event.

As the Riyadh Masters 2023 tournament unfolds, fans have eagerly awaited the performance of Dota 2 giants OG. Competing with their legendary stand-in, Sébastien "Ceb" Debs, the team's journey has begun on a rocky note. OG suffered back-to-back defeats in their first two series against Quest Esports and beastcoast, leaving them with a disappointing 0-4 record and in danger of crashing out of the tournament.

OG Gets Demolished by Quest Esports

During the opening series, OG faced Quest Esports, a team that impressively achieved a Top 4 finish at the Bali Major 2023. However, for the Riyadh Masters 2023, Quest Esports is facing a challenge as they are competing without the presence of Ammar "ATF" Al-Assaf.

Even with the handicap, Game 1 ended swiftly in just 27 minutes, with Quest Esports showcasing a dominant performance. OG's decision to build three Midas items on their heroes, including Faceless Void, Invoker, and Ogre Magi, turned out to be too greedy. Despite bzm's signature Invoker, Quest Esports methodically gained control of the game and emerged victorious.

In Game 2, OG attempted to rally, but Quest Esports proved too formidable to overcome. The game lasted 36 minutes, and while OG managed to secure an early gold lead, their lack of lockdowns and stuns allowed Quest Esports' Storm Spirit to take over the tempo. Ultimately, Quest Esports secured their second win, leaving OG without a victory in their first series.

Here is the highlights for the series:

Beastcoast Proves a Formidable Foe

Having suffered a difficult start against Quest Esports, OG faced another challenging opponent in beastcoast, the South American (SA) representative. The first game was relatively close, lasting 34 minutes, but beastcoast gradually gained control as the match progressed. David "Parker" Nicho Flores’ stellar performance on Terrorblade proved to be a significant factor, overwhelming OG's Leshrac and Faceless Void.

In Game 2 against beastcoast, OG showed resilience and determination, making the match highly contested. Beastcoast employed an unconventional strategy, playing Alchemist support that farmed an Aghanim's Scepter and gave it to Parker’s Gyrocopter, increasing his gold lead. Despite being behind, OG managed to win several clutch team fights, bringing the gold advantage back to even and even in their favor. However, as the game continued, Parker’s Gyrocopter with a Divine Rapier was too much for OG.
