Black Mirror Season 6 Release Date – Everything We Know

The dystopian-themed Black Mirror is getting its sixth season this summer. Let’s take a look at what you can expect from the Netflix series. 

The much-loved Black Mirror is airing this summer for its sixth season. First airing back in 2011, the series has been met with critical acclaim thanks to its approach to a dark future that feels a bit too realistic. 

Black Mirror Season 6 Release Date & Episodes

Black Mirror Season 6 is due to air this summer and will feature five new episodes. Today saw Entertainment Weekly release the titles of each episode alongside a short synopsis. 

Episode 1 titled ‘Joan is Awful’ tells the story of a woman who discovers her life has been made into a TV drama on a global streaming service. The titular character will be portrayed by Hollywood actress Salma Hayek. She will star alongside Ben Barnes, Rob Delaney, Michael Cera, Annie Murphy and Himesh Patel. 

Episode 2 is ‘Loch Henry’ which follows the story of a young couple who travel to a small Scottish town. It is there they plan to work on filming a nature documentary but soon find themselves embroiled in tales from the past. 

It will star Samuel Blenkin, Myha’la Herrold, Daniel Portman, John Hannah, and Monica Dolan.

Episode 3 titled ‘Beyond the Sea’ takes place in an alternate 1969. It follows the story of two men who set off on a high-tech mission only to be met with unimaginable tragedy. 

This episode stars Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul alongside Josh Hartnett, Kata Mara, Auden Thornton and Rory Culkin. 

The penultimate episode 4 is titled ‘Mazey Day’ and stars Zazie Beetz as a troubled starlet. It tells the story of her life as she dodges the paparazzi all whilst battling with the results of a hit-and-run accident.

She stars alongside Clara Rugaard and Danny Ramirez. 

The final episode will be ‘Demon 79’ which takes place in northern England during 1979. It tells the story of a timid sales assistant who is told she must commit heinous acts in order to stop an impending disaster.

The cast includes Anjana Vasan, Paapa Essiedu, Katherine Rose Morley, and David Shields.
