New Dead By Daylight chapter – DBD PTB release time

When is the next DBD chapter PTB? It’s time for DBD to finally enter its true horror era. Until now, sure, the game features legendary killers from the horror genre and some killing, but once you’ve played the game for a while, the horror aspect wears off. Finally, it looks like we’re getting a truly terrifying new killer in DBD chapter 31.

With around four new chapters a year, it’s a wonder the team at Behaviour are able to come up with new perks and powers for the new DBD killers and survivors. Somehow they do, and the year eight Dead by Daylight roadmap confirms a total of nine new characters. Following surprise survivor Nic Cage, the good guys from Chapter 30, and Alan Wake, a creepy new original killer is next to arrive. DBD PTB release date and time

The Chapter 31 DBD PTB arrives on February 20, 2024 at 9am PT, 12pm ET, 5pm GMT and will likely last for around a week. Chapter 31 is the first full chapter in a while, featuring a new Dead by Daylight killer, survivor, and a brand-new map.

The February PTB release date also includes the latest changes to existing characters, as announced in a DBD developer update on February 19, 2024. Among the controversial changes, The Huntress is getting a major buff, while The Pig is finally getting some changes to keep the Nerf The Pig meme fans happy – only it’s equal parts nerf and buff.

DBD Chapter 31 release date and details

The DBD Chapter 31 release date is expected to be March 12, 2o24. This is based on previous PTB lengths and chapter release dates, given that the PTB should last a week, then given the team two weeks to assess the feedback and make any changes.

Dead by Daylight Chapter 31 is an unprecedented chapter in many ways. Firstly, we know nothing about the chapter going into the PTB, other than one mysterious, found footage trailer released on Twitter/X. The DBD trailer is the scariest yet, featuring a very creepy jump scare, so we won’t share it here, giving you the option to choose whether to watch it or not.

The trailer does, however, suggest that the new map will be a campsite, as the new survivor records a creature pacing around their tent. After a while, the tent’s zip starts to undo from the outside and a face peers in, saying what sounds like “help me”, before attacking the camper. This creepy killer looks, from the little we can see, like a mutant out of Sons of the Forest – but this is an original chapter.

Upcoming Dead by Daylight chapters

The next full DBD chapter arrives in March 2024, featuring a new killer and survivor, as well as, hopefully, a new map. It’s been a while since we’ve had a new map in Dead by Daylight, with the Nostromo being the most recent. However, significant changes have been made to existing maps in the meantime, and we had the return of Stranger Things’ Hawkins Lab.
