NetherRealm Studios has announced that Cross-Play multiplayer will be coming to Mortal Kombat 1 in February 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S versions of the bloody brawler.
In addition to Cross-Play, the developer is also working on the ability to allow players to filter out opponents using Wi-Fi, so they can instead focus on those using a wired connection. This typically offers the best connection for online matches, eliminating any possible lag and disconnections.
NetherRealm’s Ed Boon previously confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 would receive a substantial story DLC similar to Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.
Mortal Kombat 1 was released in September 2023 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our full review here. The game weaves a brand new narrative following the events of MK11, introducing new character story arcs and depictions of fan-favourite fighters.
