Microsoft Annonces Xbox Game Pass September 2024 Second Wave Titles

Microsoft has unveiled the second wave of Xbox Game Pass titles for September 2024. The September second-wave lineup has three games. 

The three games include:

• Wargroove 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Available September 19
• Frostpunk 2 (PC) – Available September 20
• Ara: History Untold (PC) – Available September 24

Frostpunk 2 and Ara: History Untold are PC-only games that will launch as day-one titles. The titles offer deep strategy gameplay, from city-building survival challenges to grand historical simulations. Wargroove 2 is a turn-based strategy game that launched in 2023.

Wargroove 2 is a sequel to 2019’s critically acclaimed tactical turn-based strategy game returns with new units, storylines, and co-op modes. The game is set in a pixel-art fantasy world and challenges players to outmaneuver their opponents in turn-based combat, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.

Frostpunk 2 is the long-awaited sequel to 11 Bit Studios’ gritty city-building survival game. The title shifts its focus from extreme weather to societal challenges. This day-one Game Pass release puts players in the role of a city leader, forced to balance resource management, human survival, and societal unrest. The game promises even more complex moral decisions and a more dynamic world to explore.

Changes in Game Pass Subscription Pricing

This new wave of releases comes amid significant Xbox Game Pass pricing changes. Since introducing the controversial subscription tiers earlier this month, the September 2024 second wave is the first wave of games to join Game Pass. The new tiers took effect on September 12 and have since sparked debate among fans. A new Standard Tier omits access to several major titles. The titles include blockbuster games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Starfield, and Diablo 4. Game Pass Ultimate, the highest tier, has also seen a price increase, now costing $19.99, up from $16.99 per month. However, the tier retains access to all new releases, cloud gaming, and exclusive content.

Games Leaving Xbox Game Pass in September

Microsoft has confirmed that several titles will leave the service on September 30, including:

• Loop Hero

• My Time At Portia

• PAW Patrol Grand Prix

• Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

• The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season

• The Walking Dead: Season Two
• Valheim
