Sony's latest superhero film Madame Web landed in theaters this week, and already the movie is available to preorder in multiple formats online, including a steelbook 4K edition. While no release date is set for the Madame Web home video releases, we'll show you where you can secure your copy of the 4K edition right now.

Preorder Madame Web 4K Steelbook Edition

$35

The upcoming Madame Web steelbook edition includes the movie on 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and digital download. The steelbook case will feature unique cover art that has yet to be revealed. Preorders are available for $35 at Walmart or $56 at Amazon, though we expect Amazon's price to drop substantially prior to launch. Amazon almost always winds up selling Blu-ray preorders for the same price as Walmart, despite often starting at higher prices. Either way, you won't be charged for your order until it ships, and preordering now guarantees you'll only pay the lowest price.

Along with the 4K steelbook edition, you can also preorder Madame Web on standard Blu-ray and DVD at Amazon. We'd also expect the prices for these versions to drop ahead of launch. As of now, you can get the 4K steelbook edition for the same price as the DVD and less than the Blu-ray. So... yeah, preorder the steelbook if you want Madame Web.

Madame Web tells the eponymous superheroine's origin story. Paramedic Cassandra Webb (Dakota Johnson) discovers she's clairvoyant and able to see the future of other superheroes in her universe. However, she does not possess any other powers like super strength or acrobatics--so when a masked villain shows up, she teams up with multiple web-slinging and wall-crawling Spider-Women, including Julia Carpenter (Sydney Sweeney), Celeste O'Connor (Mattie Franklin), and Anya Corazón (Isabela Merced) to stop the threat.

That may sound like your standard superhero movie, but Madame Web differs from what we've come to expect from the genre, feeling more like a slasher horror flick than an action film. And though the film and its many characters are based on the Spider-Man comics series, Madame Web is separate from Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe, instead taking place in the same alternate reality as Sony's Venom films starring Tom Hardy and the upcoming Kraven movie.

Unfortunately, this different spin on the superhero movie hasn't been well-received by critics or viewers. Over at GameSpot sister site Metacritic, Madame Web currently holds a "generally unfavorable" rating amongst critics and a 1.9 user score average. That said, GameSpot's reviewer was a bit more positive, calling the film "delightfully subversive" in our 6/10 Madame Web review.
