Look Back Anime Adaptation Appears in US Movie Theaters in October

The Look Back anime film based on the Tatsuki Fujimoto manga is headed to movie theaters in the US on October 6-7, 2024. following an early release in select venues on October 4, 2024. This comes after it debuted in Japan in June 2024. 

Look Back is the story of two young women who aspire to become mangaka and create their own original manga series. The two meet while in school together. While Fujino is the more talented of the two, causing a complex in Kyomoto, the two eventually are drawn together and become close. The story follows the growth of their art and relationship from elementary school until college, and the effect the two have on each others’ lives.

The official GKids site offers information on buying tickets for showings. It seems only ones for the showings on October 6-7, 2024 are available. Prices vary depending on the theater selected. The options shown note that only the Japanese dub with English subtitles will be available. 

Look Back first appeared as a manga back in 2021, before the one shot was turned into a movie. This came after creator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s other works Chainsaw Man and Fire Punch. As a result of its success, physical copies were released. 

The Look Back anime adaptation will be in US movie theaters in New York City, New York and Los Angeles, California on October 4, 2024, then throughout the country between October 6-7, 2024. The manga was released in English via Viz Media.
