Despite the title, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth wants you to work for its cash. There’s a lot to purchase between all the upgrade materials, gear and weapons. Fortunately, Honolulu City, the new setting, is rife with opportunities to farm money. Ensure you’re depositing money into an ATM as often as possible to prevent losses if you fall in battle.
Without further ado, here are some of the best ways to earn money throughout Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
How to Farm Money
Play the Story
Getting lost in the Substories, mini-games, side activities, and other optional content is shockingly simple. Infinite Wealth is the biggest game in the series, making it all the easier to get lost, but it’s good to focus on the story whenever possible since chapter completion will bestow more money. As such, you need to focus on the main quest to open up other areas of the game, so take a break every few Substories for the story.
Lucky Money Charm
You’ll want to get the Lucky Money Charm as quickly as possible. When equipped, it provides a 1.1x bonus to the money received from battles, which is all the more useful when battling tougher enemies and bosses. First, unlock the Fortune Exchange by playing through the story. You’ll then have to collect Fortune Slips and exchange them for points to spend on items. Spend 40 points worth to get it, but not immediately. You first need to get the Tranquility Bat, Flame Amulet, Rime Amulet, and Raiden Amulet before it becomes available to purchase.
Selling Items
As you discover items, beat down enemies and receive rewards, you’ll replace a good chunk of your gear. You’ll also find golden circles to interact with while exploring the streets, which can provide treasure (or trash) to sell. Long story short, sell these at the various Pawn Shops in the city for reliable returns.
Smackdowns
After your party gains more levels, you’ll eventually unlock the Smackdown option. It allows for quickly disposing of weaker foes (who are indicated by blue icons above their heads). The amount of XP gained isn’t too high, but it’s a fast way to farm money and items. Sell any excess amounts of the latter at the Pawn Shops for even more cash, rinse and repeat.
Keepers of the City
The story and Substories have their share of boss battles, but you’ll also find Elites wandering the world. Known as Keepers of the City, they’re more challenging than the average thug with more health. It’s worth taking them on for money, but ensure you’re at or around their level.
Dondoko Island
Dondoko Island is an Animal Crossing-like activity where players get a small island to build structures, attract NPCs, open shops and more. As you complete tasks and improve its rating, you’ll receive money. It also has a unique currency called Dodobucks, which can be converted to standard cash, making it even more worthwhile.
Sujimon Battles
A Pokemon-like activity called Sujimon also opens up after venturing to Anaconda Mall, allowing you to hire Sujimon and participate in battles with other trainers. Trainers have different ranks, like Gold and Platinum, which give more money as you defeat them. While it requires some time to train and empower your Sujimon, the returns are pretty hefty.
