The "bigger, better" sequel is out this year

Warhorse Studios has today announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a PS5 sequel to the 2018 original. Set to release later this year, you can check out the reveal trailer above. The studio says it is a "bigger, better, and more ambitious" title that the team has grown to more than 250 employees to create. The sequel is pitched as the "passion project" Warhorse Studios always wanted to make, and is now making a reality with the correct resources.

Once again using medieval Europe as the setting, the open world will use the city of Kuttenberg as its centerpiece. The play space is said to be "two times bigger" than the first game — one developer jokes the main city is almost "too big". On top of that, a longer story will be told across five hours of cutscenes. That's almost double the amount of cutscenes the PS4 original had. New weapons will include crossbows and early firearms. The setting is also described as dynamic, with your actions affecting how townsfolk treat you.

"Live life through the eyes and actions of Henry, a young man on a quest to avenge his murdered parents," a new press release reveals. "His story – illustrated with over five hours of stunning cinematics – takes him from aspiring warrior to rebel, crossing paths with a charismatic cast of characters and an unforgettable set of adventures, as he goes up against the King of Hungary, Sigismund the Red Fox and his fearsome allies."
