Story

A dense, all-consutown in Into the Emberlandsming cloud has descended upon the Emberlands, cloaking everything it touches in darkness. Amidst this gloom, the once serene Knacks are lost, and you're tasked with their rescue. With only a lantern fueled by radiant ember, you'll carve a path through various landscapes, saving the world one Knack at a time.

Along your journey, you'll encounter intriguing creatures with requests, propelling you into further quests. Completing these tasks rewards you with valuable upgrades, enhancing your skills. As you gather resources and rescue more Knacks, you'll guide them to safety, aiding in the reconstruction of a new village. Gradually, a new world order emerges, fostering exploration and growth.

Embark on a charming yet perilous journey in Into The Emberlands. Embrace the role of the Lightbearer, armed with your ember-fueled lantern, and brave the enigmatic Miasma to restore peace to the land. But heed caution, for should your light fade, you risk losing yourself to the Miasma until another bearer of light extends their aid. Explore, rebuild, and survive in this enchanting rogue-lite adventure.

Development

Tasks in Into the Emberlands

Developer Tiny Roar from Hamburg/Germany and publisher Daedalic Entertainment are currently working on Into the Emberlands. Fun fact: Into the Emberlands started off as Tiny Roar’s former project Wanderful. The studio has invested in open and iterative development processes, evolving Wanderful from the initial concept into the more fleshed-out Into the Emberlands. You may know Tiny Roar’s previous works, like Bomb Bots Arena and Xel. They’re also working on another upcoming game, Lou’s Lagoon.

Daedalic Entertainment, on the other hand, is a renowned publisher. They’ve partnered with indie projects for 17 years. Some of these include Unrailed!, Potion Tycoon, Shadow Tactics, Inkulinati, Fling to the Finish! and more. Additionally, they have upcoming games like Wild Woods, Edge of Sanity, and more.

Into the Emberlands - Official Announcement Trailer

Yes, the official announcement trailer for Into the Emberlands is out now on YouTube. Right off the bat, the visuals and gameplay look adorable. In the background, a soft, relaxing music track rolls on. You see snippets of the story, including the thick shroud called Miasma engulfing the world and your character coming to the rescue. You also get a glimpse into some of the quests and rewards to expect in the final game. 

Release Date, Platform, & Editions

Village in Into the Emberlands

Unfortunately, we don’t have a confirmed release date for Into the Emberlands. However, we do know that the upcoming game will launch into Early Access via Steam in the Summer of 2024. This means that the complete version of Into the Emberlands is likely to launch on PC platforms via Steam. Other platforms remain unconfirmed. As for the editions, it’s still too early to say. Since Into the Emberlands is starting out as an Early Access version, if there are any editions that are planned for the full release, they will likely be confirmed much later.
