Immortals Of Aveum Game Director Says The Title Will Continue To Grow For ‘Years And Years’

Bret Robbins, founder of Ascendant Studios, has revealed during a chat with GamesIndustry.biz that he believes Immortals Of Aveum will continue to be discovered by players for years to come, similar to what happened with Dead Space.

Robbins, who served as creative director on Dead Space at Visceral Games back in 2008, noted that the survival horror title was a slow burner among players, and believes the same will happen with Immortals of Aveum.

People were discovering [Dead Space] for years and years. I think Immortals will be the same.

Immortals of Aveum was released in August 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, although it wasn’t quite the critical darling that publisher EA had hoped for, and sold relatively poorly. Earlier this month, a former developer who worked on Immortals of Aveum said that it was an ‘awful idea‘ to spend $125 million on a triple-A single-player shooter in today’s current market.
