Earth Day is April 22, and to commemorate the occasion, you can currently save on a variety of documentaries from the BBC’s Planet Earth collection in 4K UHD format at Amazon. Even if you’ve already seen some of these films, streaming service resolution can’t compare to the visuals on a physical disc. While this isn’t a comprehensive collection of nature documentaries produced by the BBC, it is an excellent opportunity to explore the majesty of our little blue marble without leaving the safety of your living room.

Narrated by the ineffable David Attenborough, each documentary focuses on a different aspect of our planet's nature and wildlife with stunning clarity and detail. If you’d like to learn more about our planet, I can’t think of a better way.

Explore the familial drama of five of Earth’s most celebrated and endangered animals. Dynasties takes an intimate look at the family structures of five different species and the struggles they face from their environment, and each other. Typically $49.99, the 4K Blu-ray version of Dynasties is available from Amazon for just $17.97.

Frozen Planet 2 explores the species that live in the coldest regions on Earth, traveling to the poles, arctic tundras, and beyond. You can pick up a 4K Blu-ray copy from Amazon currently for just $19.99.

A remarkable feat in time-lapse photography, Green Planet is a five-episode series devoted to the plants, trees, and other flora that grow and help sustain life on our planet. The 4K Blu-ray version of this documentary is currently discounted to $16.49 at Amazon (was $25).

Seven Worlds, One Planet is a seven-part miniseries, with each episode exploring the biomes and wildlife of the seven continents of Earth. The 4K Blu-ray version of this collection is currently on sale at Amazon for just $16.99 (was $24.99).
