How to start A Rift in Time Act 2 in Disney Dreamlight Valley

2 weeks ago 48

The second part of the A Rift in Time expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley is here! This guide explains how to begin A Rift in Time Act 2 so you can dive into Eternity Isle’s newest content and welcome DDV’s newest (technically oldest) Villager, Oswald, to the Valley.

How to begin Act II of the A Rift in Time expansion in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Before you can start A Rift in Time: Act 2, you must complete A Rift in Time: Act 1 and EVE, Rapunzel, and Gastons Level 2 friendship quests.

The exact quests that must be completed before you can begin Act 2 are:

  • ‘Your Eternal Reward’ — Main story
  • ‘A New Directive’ — EVE (Note: Some players report that completing all of EVE’s quests is required)
  • ‘Center of Attention’ — Gaston
  • ‘The Housewarming’ —  Rapunzel

Once you’ve met the prerequisites, you should see ‘The Sunken Ruins’ in your Quests tab. If the quest isn’t there, you may need to wait around fifteen minutes for it to appear. You can also try talking to Merlin in his home to see if the quest is available.

‘The Sunken Ruins’ is the first quest in A Rift in Time: Act 2, continuing the search for the Spark of Imagination teased at the beginning of the expansion. Talk to Merlin in his library and continue your adventure on Eternity Isle!

I’m still not seeing ‘The Sunken Ruins,’ what should I do?

Some players have also reported that the WALL-E bundle quests must be completed if you own them. This should go without saying, but make sure your game is up to date, too!

When all else fails, complete other quests in the Quest tab that involve Merlin. The DDV community’s leading theory is that quests involving the world’s most powerful wizard may stop The Sunken Ruins from triggering.

How to unlock Oswald the Lucky Rabbit

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is unlocked during A Rift in Time Act 2’s main story. Complete the quests that follow The Sunken Ruins, and you’ll have the little guy in your Valley in no time.

In addition to being downright adorable, Oswald has a handful of features entirely unique to him. I won’t spell it all out in black and white here, but I’m sure you’ll love them.

A fair word of warning, however. Don’t purchase the 3D glasses from Scrooge’s shop until you reach the ‘Oswald’s Many Dimensions’ quest. At the time of writing, this will prevent you from completing the quest and unlocking Oswald as a villager due to a major bug.
