How To Redeem Fortnite Global Accessibility Awareness Day Items

1 year ago 96

To celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Fortnite is giving away some free cosmetics. Here is how you can redeem them.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is a day focused on digital access and inclusion for over one billion people who live with disabilities and impairments. Today has already seen the announcement of Sony’s new Access controller and now it seems as though Fortnite is getting involved.

How to redeem the Fortnite items

There are two new items available for a limited-time. These are an ASL emote and the Access Core Back Bling. The emote signs ‘GGWP’ (Good Game, Well Played) in American Sign language.

These will be available from now until 8 PM ET on May 19.

In order to redeem them, simply head into the Item Shop in game. Once there, you will easily spot the new cosmetics on the main page that cost no V-Bucks. Click ‘purchase’ and they’ll be all yours! Find them in your locker in order to equip them.

Further accessibility options

One of the world’s biggest battle royale games is no stranger to accessibility options available to their players. These include controller capability, visualised sound effects, customisable subtitles and more. The visualised sound effects will provide cues for enemies, in-game objects and events.

Gaming is for everyone. Did you know Fortnite has these accessibility options?

???? Controller compatibility
???? Visualized sound effects
???? Customizable subtitles
And more!

Fortnite also features a colour-blind mode. All of these features are adjustable in the game’s settings so you can alter them for your needs.

With the addition of two new items to celebrate GAAD, it is good to see games taking the right steps towards an accessible future. With Fortnite constantly being updated, it remains to be seen what else will be added in the next few years.

For now, make sure to grab your limited-time items to show your support.
